competition
4Lymm is launched
A team from Lymm Golf Club reached
the final of Manchester and District Golf
Association’s new competition for over
55 year old golfers.
The team led by Dan Heaphy beat teams
from Stand, Worsley, Cavendish, Fairfield
and Denton Golf Clubs to make the final
which was held at Manchester Golf Club.
Unfortunately, there they lost to a team
from Pike Fold Golf Club..
Lymm Golf Club Captain, John
Christian, said ‘The first year of this new
competition attracted teams from over
50 clubs in the Manchester area and we
were delighted to reach the final. Well
done to everyone who took part and let’s
hope we can win next year.’

for the Lymm area and replaces the
former Lymm Lions. A special meeting
was held on 8th September to formerly
launch the group.
Following a successful application to the
Charities Commission 4Lymm is now
a registered Charitable Incorporated
Organisation (CIO).
4Lymm will soon be undertaking
fundraising
activities
to
support
local charities and groups as well as
undertaking the annual tinning appeal
in November and December.
Shirley Hay, Chair of 4Lymm, says “It is a
very exciting time and we are very pleased
to gain charity status so quickly so we
can now start to plan our activities. We
have already attracted a number of new
members and look forward to increasing
