Essential Feature
Judge Wanted…
if you dare!
No sooner was the 2014 Lymm Produce
Show over than we started planning the
next one. Thank you to everyone that
gave us some feedback. If you have some
ideas about what we should do next year,
let us know at orchard@
oughtrington.co.uk
So we thought …let’s
have a chilli competition.
What we haven’t decided
is whether to have a chilli
tasting competition too.
So if you know about
chillies and think you can
judge them please get in
touch.
If you enjoyed the show
you can start planning your
entry for next year. Whilst
we do change some of the
categories you can bank on
us having beans & tomatoes
classes. However you can
bank on us having ‘wild card’ class. Next
year we are going to have lemon drizzle
as the standard cake class, but for those
who want to do their own thing there will
still be the favourite bake to challenge
the judges.
STOP PRESS….Produce Show next year
will be on Sunday 6th September 2015.
But before we get ahead of ourselves
let’s celebrate this year’s success. The
weather was definitely on the side of
the 6th Produce Show
at
Oughtrington
Community Centre.
The locals grew, baked
and turned up to
enter and see produce
in
Oughtrington
on
Sunday
7thSeptember.
In the bread category
the
winners
are
sharing the Lymm
& District Round
Table Bakers Shield
as the judge couldn’t
choose between two
very different breads
- a batch and a fig
& walnut loaf - that
beat last year’s winner into 3rd
place.
Donald Reid managed to keep his Lymm
& District Round Table Brewer Shield for
his home brew beer, winning both 1st
and 2nd in that category.
