Strictly! Despite this, I thoroughly
enjoyed it and made lots of new friends,
which I would not have done if I had not
participated in the award scheme.
The final aspect of the Award was a
three day expedition, plus a practice
expedition held earlier in the year. For
this, our group of six girls decided to
trek through the Peak District. We carried
all our belongings, food and tents with
us while walking, which was something
we had never attempted before. We had
never met two of the girls in our team,
so our teamwork skills were challenged
throughout the expedition as we didn’t
Overall, I found the Duke of Edinburgh
Award scheme is both physically and
mentally challenging, making it a very
worthwhile experience and a great way to
meet new people whilst having a fantastic
time. It was truly an amazing experience
that I would recommend to anyone and
I would like to thank Girlguiding for
giving me this great opportunity.

Table Top Sale
Scout Hut, Jackson Avenue, Culcheth on
the morning of Saturday 20th September
2014. We are opening to the public from
9am until 12.30pm. The purpose of the
sale is to raise funds for local girlguiding
units and also guiding members who
are fundraising for international trips
as part of Girlguiding UK. This includes
fundraising challenges to raise money
for Girlguiding UK and under 18’s taking
part in regional and divisional overseas
trips.

We expect there to be 14 - 15 stalls of
which the majority will be taken by
Girlguiding units and members. The
tables will include crafts, home bakes,
face painting and second hand goods.
Bacon sandwiches and teas/coffees will
be available - all the proceeds going to
the fundraising.
