Essential Feature
Scout Chamboree
A Chamboree is a huge international
camp, held every four years it offers a
fantastic adventure with a wide variety of
skills and activities.
2nd August
Beavers
came
in
Saturday morning for a busy day with
crafts, skills, running round the camp
site to find lots of super heroes and an
opportunity to join the Cubs for lunch
and non-stop chatter about what they’d
been doing.
1st – 3rd August Cubs
arrived
the
previous evening for an exciting weekend
camp. It started with a welcome disco
Friday evening which soon had the Cubs
weaving their way around the marquee
with their version of the conga dance.
A hearty breakfast on Saturday
saw the Cubs fuelled up ready for action
as they conducted experiments galore
and practised survival
skills. Other activities
included the climbing
wall with lots of fun
on the swings and
bouncy castles. Sunday
was
another
busy
day making frisbees,
rockets and a tug of war
being enjoyed before
the afternoon’s closing
ceremony and time for
home
2nd – 9th August
Scouts arrived for a
week long adventure
with
the
Cubs
joining them for the
parade and opening
ceremony in the
evening.
were in the group which had a day long
visit to Liverpool on Sunday following a
trail to take in the sights of the city.
Back on the camp site the activities
were split into half days so they spent
a morning on conducting experiments
with lots of creativity in the afternoon.
Another day saw them practising survival
skills including fire lighting: A fun
afternoon saw them in fancy dress taking
part in sumo wrestling before having a go
on such as the bouncy castle and water
slide.
Thursday was a day at the Scout site at
Tatton for kayaking, climbing, caving, the
assault course and a race round on BMX
bikes.
Friday was another adventure day on
site with archery and in the afternoon,
games linked to other
countries. A parade and
closing ceremony took
place in the evening.
Saturday, tents down,
pack and home for
sleep!
