News From Your Local
Rotary Club.
Having completed the rounds of the
Culcheth Community Day, Birchwood
and Croft Carnivals, the latter two with
the ever popular Coconut Shy, the Club
then concentrated on the main fund
raising event of the year,
THE 4TH ANNUAL CULCHETH BEER
FESTIVAL
which was held at the CULCHETH
SPORTS CLUB (DATEN) on Friday
12th & Saturday 13th September.
Featuring 40 Cask Ales, various Ciders
and Wines for those of differing palate,
with complimentary Soft Drinks for
Designated Drivers, this was a “MUST”
for connoisseurs of the Hop and those
who just enjoy
a sociable pint
with their family
and friends. A
hog roast and
live
background
music completed
a
pleasurable
atmosphere for all
attending.
Final figures are not
yet available, but last
year, with more than
800 people attending, this event raised
over £8,500.00 for Rotary Charities, a
sum which we hope to exceed this time,
enabling us to increase donations to
local good causes, which are many and
deserving.

Despite this effort, your Rotary Club
continues to serve the community at
large, sponsoring prizes at local schools,
providing entertainment in Elderly
Persons Homes and items of equipment
for Scouts and Guide troops and similar
organizations. We have also built a good
relationship with the Croft & Culcheth Air
Cadets and are grateful for their assistance
with our activities. The involvement of
similar groups or organizations would
also be welcomed as we look to extend
our work in the community especially in
preparation for the festive season.
1.2 million Rotarians in over 40,000
Clubs form a Global force for good,
rendering assistance
not only on a
local level, but to

worldwide in times
of need whether
through
disaster,
conflict or other
reasons, regardless
of race, creed or
