The climate of a campus is experienced differently from person to person . Climate is about perception — how it feels to be in the community , not simply what happens . In Spring 2016 , NWTC created a cross-functional team to develop its own Campus Climate Survey to ask students about their perceptions of campus climate , academic and campus life as well as the extent to which they have experienced or witnessed discrimination , harassment and sexual assault .

NWTC sent the survey to 8,423 students ; 2,862 responses were eligible for analysis . NWTC will be administering the next Student Campus Climate Survey in Fall 2022 .
