2021 Workplace Diversity and Inclusion Award
NWTC received the inaugural Workplace Diversity and Inclusion Award from the Green Bay chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management ( SHRM ). This honor recognizes the great strides NWTC has made to infuse equity into the budget process , increase workforce diversity through intentional recruitment and retention strategies , and act as a Diversity , Equity , and Inclusion ( DEI ) leader in the community .
2021 Leah Meyer Austin Award
The Leah Meyer Austin award is the highest distinction a college in the Achieving the Dream ( ATD ) Network can earn , a national network of over 300 community colleges . ATD bestows this award annually to a college that employs a holistic approach to reducing equity gaps between student groups and increasing success for all . The award recognizes institutional strength , aligned policies and procedures , a studentfocused culture , and notable increases in student outcomes . NWTC is and will continue to have a national impact on the ability of community colleges to increase student success and reduce equity gaps . of students and employees — and best practices for both — continued leadership support for diversity , and other aspects of campus diversity and inclusion .
2018 AACC Advancing Diversity Award Nomination
NWTC received a nomination for this award for the College ’ s work in advancing diversity in community college leadership , the community , and within higher education as a whole .
2016 Giving Back Award
Dr . H . Jeffrey Rafn , NWTC president , was nationally recognized for his commitment to helping all students and employees succeed and for encouraging the College community to serve community needs . Dr . Rafn received the 2016 Giving Back Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity .
2011 Workplace Diversity Advocate Award
The Wisconsin Society for Human Resource Management ( SHRM ) named NWTC the 2011 recipient of the Wisconsin SHRM Diversity Advocate Award . The award honors an individual or organization for being “ a role model in their community as a strong advocate for diversity .”
2019 HEED Award
NWTC received the 2019 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity ( HEED ) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine , the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education . The annual HEED Award is a national honor recognizing U . S . colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion . The award process consists of a comprehensive and rigorous application that includes questions relating to the recruitment and retention
