Kimi Knight
Kimi is not only a talented photographer, harnessing the emotion and love people
have with their horses in images which tell a story but she is an avid show jumper
in her own right. We caught up with her to find out more about her love for horses

Tell us abit about your horsey lifestyle:
I am an amateur show jumping rider
who fits in riding between full time work
at Country TV and photography!
When did you get into photography?
A few years ago, I just really wanted a
camera so saved to buy my first Canon
550d with a kit lens. I had done digital
design at school but knew nothing
about photography - just that I wanted
to do it!
What do you love most about it?
Capturing moments that you can look
back on and remembering how you
felt at that exact moment in time . And
sharing with people the way I see them
through the lens.
someone and their horse, having
photos done with families and pets are
so important you never know whats
going to happen so its always lovely to
have something to treasure. If someone
has an older horse or is selling them on
then Equine Portraits are such a nice
way to keep memories. I’ve had a time
where a friend and I had taken some
portraits for fun and the next year her
horse unfortunately passed away so it
was really nice to have those for her.
What do you look for?
During sessions I try to capture a range
of images, some posed and some
completely off guard and these are
usually the best ones. Capturing you in
the moment just enjoying being with
your horse.
Whats the hardest part?
Ears forward shots! You will nearly 100%
of the time need a helper, some horses
