Andrea Eis’s photographs were
published as the cover photos for a
new book by Yopie Prins, Ladies'
Greek: Victorian Translations of Trag-
edy. Prins discusses Eis’s marginalia
artwork in a chapter of the book
and other images of her work are
included in that chapter.
Kevin Grimm delivered a confer-
ence paper on Malory in May, at the
52nd International Congress on
Medieval Studies in Kalamazoo:
"The Knight-Prisoner, Denying De-
spair through Hopeful Narration."
Katie Hartsock, Andrea
Knutson, and Jeff Insko
received 2017–18 Judd Family En-
dowment Awards. Hartsock was
awarded $2,000 for a
poetry reading and craft talk

featuring acclaimed Carribean
poet Lorna Goodison. Knutson
and Insko (along with Mark Stone,
Jessica Payette, and Alberto Rojo)
were awarded $4,000 to bring to
campus the World Without Ice In-
stallation, based on climate scientist
Henry Pollack's book of the same
name.
Andrea Knutson co-edited a spe-
cial issue of The Journal of the Mid-
west Modern Language Association,
“Fugitive Environmentalisms.”
Kevin Laam presented his paper,
"Masquing Traditions in Marvellian
Lyric," at the South-Central Renais-
sance Conference in Austin, TX.
