FIDANZA LIGHTWEIGHT

FLYWHEEL FOR

PORSCHE 911

Fidana now has a lightweight ywheel for the classic orsche 911 with the normally-aspirated 6-cylinder 2.2, 2.4 and 2.7-litre engines, from 1970-1977.
Fidanas ywheels are made from the highest quality 6061 T6 aluminium for a combination of high tensile strength, excellent heat dissipation and, of course, the reduction in weight that delivers quicker throttle response and faster acceleration.
In the interests of increased clutch efficiency, as well as long-lasting durability, the Fidanza design team analyses the originals and engineers improvements, where necessary, to improve overall balance, critical clearances or design.
In all aspects Fidana ywheels are built for both performance and durability. While most companies design their ywheels so that they can be refaced, Fidana makes the whole friction surface( shown in its green protective delivery coating in the image) replaceable so that it will never require resurfacing or total replacement. When the friction surface wears, that alone needs to be replaced, saving both time and money.
The pattern for the fasteners is also computer-designed to keep the friction surface from warping under extreme use and a Fidana ywheel can mate with many types of clutch material, including organic Kevlar, ceramic, metallic and sintered iron.

ENGINEERING STAFF WANT TO BE EMPOWERED

TTi Research recently published its six-month Employee Satisfaction Benchmark Report for the Engineering sector( December 2018- June 2019). Part of its ongoing multi-sector employee engagement survey, the study collects insights and feedback from employees spanning 11 sectors, scoring a range of engagement attributes for job satisfaction and staff engagement.
TTi Research asked Engineering employees,‘ What’ s most important to you in your job?’ and over 40 per cent considered that being empowered to make decisions was an important engagement factor, closely followed by understanding what is required of them( 39 %), close team working( 28 %) and support from their line managers( 23 %). Being encouraged to take on new challenges, flexibility in the role, and training to do their jobs well all scored equally with 22 %, with only clear direction with your tasks( 18 %) and understanding your company goals ranking lower( 11 %).
Glyn Luckett, Commercial Director at TTi Research, commented:‘ Employee engagement goes deeper than job satisfaction, it describes the emotional commitment an individual has to their employer and company goals. Unlike a satisfied employee who is content in their role, an engaged employee will often go beyond what is expected of them, doing tasks because they want to, not for the recognition. An engaged employee is switched on to customers’ needs and attunes their efforts to delight, helping raise customer satisfaction and referral rates. For employers committed to nurturing employee engagement, the benefits are far reaching.’
A Gallup study confirms that organisations scoring highly for employee engagement showed 21 % higher profitability and 21 % higher productivity than organisations who score poorly.
