n Champion has installed a pressure sensor into its latest glow plug, making it the world’ s first glow plug to enable the regulation of the combustion processes inside a closedloop system on the market.
The addition of a pressure sensor within the glow plug allows data to be transmitted to the ECU so that fuel injection can be adjusted to the actual combustion in real time. This means higher peak pressures can be obtained and standard and future combustion processes can be pushed even further to their limits, allowing stable emissions control throughout the engine’ s entire service life.
