Amur Leopards are being poached mainly because of their fur. Another reason for its endangerment is because more logging companies are going into the forest in search for more wood, to satisfy our need.

In 1999 Amur Leopard fur was found for sale in a village for a shockingly low price, they were around 500 and 1000 dollars. After this situation occured, it led to more environmentalists to further research on this issue on illegal poaching.

Many villages are close to the forest, which makes the forest increasingly accessible for poachers to hunt leopards and other animal species.

TRAFFIC is an organization that dedicates itself to helping and monitoring an wildlife trade that might be affecting the nature.

WWF is working with a company called TRAFFIC, which monitors wildlife trade; they together are trying to stop illegal trade in Amur Leopard parts or any commercial trade of this species.
