With being a first generation student I knew that giving up was not an option, when I
first applied to nursing school I was rejected and my dreams were crushed. I had an
almost perfect GPA, a great internship lined up that only 7 spots were given to work
at a well known hospital in Dallas, yet I wasn't accepted into nursing school. This
taught me that once you get knocked down and things don't go as expected, to pick
yourself up and NEVER give up, no matter what. I had to move home temporarily,
while applying to other nursing programs and taking other classes that I needed and
to boost my GPA, I did everything I possibly could and surely enough I got accepted
into a nursing school!
However my plans didn't go as expected, I look back now and realize being rejected
has been a life lesson, and that it's okay if things don't go how you want them to,
and things happen for a reason. However, if you have a goal you want to achieve in
life, know that anything is possible but YOU have the control if you will make that
happen or not.
