Purpose Since 2015, the Phoenix Alumnae Chapter honors the life of Sister Maria Gomez, a first-generation college student, DREAMER, and alumna of the Lambda Chapter at Arizona State University. The Maria Gomez DREAM was founded after Maria lost her battle with cancer in 2014. The Phoenix Alumnae Chapter honors her legacy by continuing to serve the community and make a positive impact on those who need it most. The Phoenix Alumnae Chapter has fundraised for the 5th Annual Maria's Dream Scholarship which awards a first generation college student a $1,000 scholarship in the spring semester.
