Congratulations to Aracely Baeza, (Sigma Alumna) who was recently nominated and voted in as a board member for the National Catholic Partnership on Disability (NCPD), headquartered in Washington D.C. The goal of the NCPD is the “Full inclusion of persons with disabilities -- in the Church and in Society.” She will be headed to Washington D.C. in November!!

In May Delia Garcia (Alpha Alpha Alumna) had the privledge to be the Commencement Speaker at the Wichita State University 2018 Graduation which so happens to be her Alma Mater! She kept it real by sharing personal experience and advice. Watch the full video at here and see Delia at minute 28-35.

Congrats to the first Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) Public Policy Fellow from Utah! Itzel Hernandez, born to Mexican immigrant parents, is a Beehive State native. She is a University of Utah alumna and recently served in the Utah Office of Multicultural Affairs. Itzel is one of 16 fellows nationwide chosen for the 2018-2019 CHCI Graduate Fellowship, which started some 40 years ago, in Washington, D.C. She plans to become an attorney and pursue public service.

Congratulations to Lynda Miranda Morgart who was named 2017-2018 Secondary Teacher of the year in her school district! This is her second District Teacher of the Year award.
