The historic pandemic forced us all to adapt , and our alumnae chapters did just that ! Our alumnae completed over 900 service hours , particularly during a time of high community need . Alumnae also completed over 1,200 sxster hours , helping combat the isolation we might have been feeling as a collective . Events ranged from making and donating masks with Yakima to volunteering at the local zoo with Oklahoma City . Southern Nevada partnered with the Nevada Youth Network , a non-profit dedicated to service , empowerment , and leadership among youth in the state . In addition to service partnerships during the holidays , Southern Nevada volunteering at the NYN annual book drive and back-toschool fair .
More than one of every four alumnae chapter events were virtual this year , which helped make events more accessible to our alumnae . Alumnae chapters found ways to still have fun and build sxsterhood despite the distance .
Sxsters came together for fun cooking events at DC Metro and charcuterie board making at Denver , and even a calming yoga session at Dallas . As lifelong learners , our alumnae chapters used this time to set sxsters up for success via a financial advice workshop at Houston and goal-setting strategies at Chicago .
Service events were all conducted outdoors , such as Sun City ' s annual candy drive at the local Center Against Sexual and Family Violence , to Eastern Nebraska ' s socially-distant canvassing event to register voters .
