Offical KDChi Call starting in 2016

In Spring 2009 at Alpha Iota, I was initiated into KDChi and taught the KDChi call "Oua Oua". In the Fall of 2009 during my first semester at UNT as the Lone KDChi I participated in my first roll call at a school that did not have an established KDChi colony/chapter..."Oua Oua" rang out loud and proud not just from me but by sisters from Upsilon (SMU). Once I heard the call from across the room and I immediately looked for those 3 beautiful letters. From Spring 2009 of my initiation to Spring 2015 at the end of my term at Historian/Chaplain there were numerous spellings and no way to show new sisters that we have an official call.

So in Spring 2015 at my first term as Historian/Chaplain was coming to an end, I hoped to bring more unification amongst all of our sisters and one thing most schools with Greeks have in common is "Role Call." I have seen and heard of different calls from chapter to chapter, but now we can unite no matter the chapter through our Official Call. The purpose of having an official call is to bring sisters from all chapters from all states to be able to join together and call for each other. "Oua Oua" will be considered the official call for KDChi. It is unclear where this call originated from, however, it can be linked to what a penguin call would sound like with a KDChi twist.

O-Open heartedness for we each welcome each other

with open arms as friends, for KDChi does not make us better than each other, but better than who we used to be.

U-Unified for we are each united by the bond we share and love for Kappa Delta Chi.

A-Ambitious for we strive to make our present, our future, our world better.

The idea of an Official Call is to allow for unification amongst all sisters and chapters no matter your chapter, state, or region. This is not to say chapters cannot create their own chapter call, like those we have heard at the National Leadership Conference roll call, but should sisters from other areas visit during Greek events KDChi can be represented as one.
