Alpha Sigma sister honored as

"Seminole Torchbearer "

Congratulations to Delta Alpha sister Sophia Rahming who was honored by Florida State University as a "Seminole Torchbearer". This award recognizes students leaders on campus representing a legacy of leadership. Sophia is currently working on her Doctorate in Higher Education.

The Seminole Torchbearers in 1986 began formally recognizing those alumni who were student leaders during their time on campus. Since then, over 5,500 alums have been inducted into this prestigious group.

This March Griselda Estrada, initiated at the omicron chapter, graduate of the Alpha chapter and a first-year medical student at Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA, will be volunteering with Naturopaths Without Borders to provide free medical care in Haiti. Naturopathic medicine is a distinct profession of primary health care,

emphasizing prevention, treatment and the promotion of optimal health through the use of therapeutic methods and modalities that encourage the self-healing process, the vis medicatrix naturae. Naturopathic Medicine integrates science and scientific research into its practice.
