The ladies of the SoCal stroll team of Kappa Delta Chi recently competed and took first place in Lambda Theta Alpha - Gamma Sigma's chapters 9th Annual StrollFest at California State University - San Bernardino.

Searching for a unique way to market KDChi to students at local Universities, while continuing a fun and bonding experience, well...strolling was the way to go! With a perspective colony at CSUSB, participating in this particular compition was an opportunity the sisters couldn't pass up.

The ladies on the team are:

Zarina Guerrero - Lambda Alum

Claudia Salinas - Lambda Alum

Marissa Jimenez - CSULA Charter

Yesenia Gonzalez - Alpha Gamma

Michelle Garcia - Alpha Gamma

Gladys Toleafoa - Alpha Gamma

For six weeks, sisters gathered together two to three times a week practicing for over two hours to get their choreography up to the high standards sisters of KDChi have continuiously set for themselves. This all while they where working full time jobs, undergrad & grad school, and internships as well.

Though nervous, hearing about all the support

they would have from sisters traveling from a variety of placed helped to calm those nerves. That, long with the warm & friendly welcome of the school, the ladies took home first place in the stroll competition! All proceeds from the event went towards supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The reason we decided to get a stroll team together was really to use as a marketing tool. We wanted to get the KDChi name out there, especially at the CSUSB campus where we currently have a Prospective Colony. We felt it would help with recruitment and with expansion in Southern California. We also thought it would be a lot of fun. Lol.

We were a little nervous at first but when we heard how many sisters were going to be driving to CSUSB to support us, we felt much more comfortable. The school was very friendly and welcomed us warmly.
