Sister Spotlight:

KRYSTAL

McCLURE

McClure graduated in August with a degree in Hospitality Management from KDChi's Alpha Ulsilon Chapter at the University of North Texas and currently works as a fashion model.

Everyone has preconceived notions about modeling. A lot of people tend to think models starve themselves, but that is not true. Models actually eat a lot, we have to work at it to maintain a look the fashion industry wants. Another misconception is that we get to keep the clothes we model. I sure do wish that were true! I would have an amazing wardrobe.

My favorite part of modeling is walking the runway. When you're on that catwalk, it's an adrenaline rush. Everyone is there just to see the clothes you're wearing and you feel like you're on top on the world.

My modeling career started when I was headed to lunch on campus. While I was there, a girl came running after me and asked if I had thought about modeling. Of course, I have since I was 10 years old. She invited me to join Models Of Style Exposed. They are a group on campus that taught aspiring models how to walk and pose. I would never have signed with my current agency, The Dragonfly Agency in Dallas, without them.

In my spare time, I absolutely love to dance to Spanish music! I love the food and the culture in general. While I may not know how to speak Spanish, I do plan to learn one day. As a sister of KDChi, I get to learn more about culture and about my sisters' families and backgrounds.

My favorite KDChi memory is attending my first KDChi National Conference, my chapter took a road trip there and stopped by my house, where we slumber partied the night before conference started. We were outside cuddled in blankets on the trampoline laughing and sharing stories. I knew then it was going to be an amazing sisterhood! -Krystal McClure
