The Elite Pittsburgh CHRISTOPHER MYERS Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Christopher “Ambition The Kid” Myers is a dynamic performer. He briefly performed with the R&B group, Pretty Ricky, then went on to start his solo career. Myers has worked alongside many artists, such as Keri Hilson, Trey Songz, and Rick Ross. He has debuted on 106 & Park and the B.E.T. Awards and has appeared in magazines such as Vibe, Right On, and Black Beat. The Elite Pittsburgh got a chance to catch up with the grinding artist and ask a few questions so our readers could get to know him on a personal level. PLUMMER: I’m so happy to finally get a chance to sit down and talk to you. I want to begin this interview by getting to talk to you about your career before I hop into the fun stuff. So let’s begin. Could you describe one of your typical work days? MYERS: Sure. Most days I’m on the road performing, so we drive or fly into the city we’re performing in and we check into the hotel. Next, I have to do a sound check at the venue and get everything ready for the show. I perform until about 2:00 a.m. and then pack up and I might get to the hotel again around 4:30 a.m. PLUMMER: Sounds like your day is pretty exhausting. Are there any negatives to your job? MYERS: Even when you’re doing something you love to do, everything becomes a job after a while. The hard part for me is that www.theelitepittsburgh.com you never know where your career can go in entertainment. It’s very up and down. PLUMMER: Yes, the entertainment industry is a very tricky career. It also has its perks though. Can you tell me about a project or accomplishment that you consider to be significant in your career? MYERS: I did a remake of a Boys II Men song called “Please Don’t Go.” It was the song that made me want to learn to sing. Someone heard the remake I did which got me an audition that got me into R&B group Pretty Ricky. I believe it’s the small things you do everyday in pursuit of your dreams that matter the most.
