Greetings Montana Rainbow Girls!

I hope the beginning of the new school year is going great for everyone! I am in a career planning class and we watched a really interesting movie called “Pay it Forward.” It is about a boy named Trevor who does not have the best family life. He is very intrigued by an assignment that his Social Studies teacher gives to his class. The assignment was to change the world. Could you imagine getting an assignment like that?

Trevor comes up with an idea to pay it forward. His idea is to help three people with big projects and receive nothing in return. He would only ask that each of the people he helped would also “pay it forward” to three different people, then in the long run it would be people doing things for other people worldwide. He helped a homeless man get back on his feet, his mother with her drinking problem, and his teacher. They all helped other people, starting the worldwide “pay it forward” movement.

Could you imagine being apart of that movement? Well you can be! All you have to do is help someone! It can be as simple to holding the door for a person behind you, or smiling at a person across the hall from you. It could be helping an elderly person cross the street, or snow plowing your neighbor’s walk way. It can be anything that would help another person!

Service doesn’t have to be limited to the work we do in Rainbow, it can be a part of our lives every day!

My challenge to you is to try and “pay it forward.” It can be something small or something big, just as long as someone else benefits. Try holding the door for someone, or helping someone with their books! If you do “pay it forward,” let me know! I would love to hear all of the stories that go along with random acts of kindness!

I can’t wait to see you all at Fall Fling in Bozeman! We have some great service projects planned and, of course, some great Rainbow fun! See you all soon!

In Rainbow Love and Service,

Kayleigh Griffith
