Hello Montana Rainbow,
This summer I started my Journey with a lot of traveling; I visited three other Jurisdictions and attended Grand Lodge. I visited Grand Assemblies in Nevada, Washington/ Idaho, and North/South Dakota. I had a fantastic time and made many new friends. I met the rep-resentatives to Montana from these jurisdictions and we became fast friends.
My first stop was in Las Vegas where we got to know the Blissfully Beautiful Butterflies. It was interesting to see what they do differently. In WA/ID and Nevada the girls all wear hoop skirts and wigglets. The girls marched so smoothly that they float during their floorwork!
In WA/ID, the representative to Montana was promoted from a Junior Representative to a Grand Representative. Baylie Devlin, the new Grand Rep to Montana, and her mom travelled to Montana the day after their Grand. They had dinner with Garden City and we showed them around Missoula.
I was also able to visit North/South Dakota Grand Assembly. I had a wonderful time and was especially excited to see how similar their Grand is to ours. I would like us, in Montana, to join N/S Dakota in a tradition: On the seventh day of every month, wear a Rainbow T- Shirt. I think this will be a lot of fun and a great way to show how proud we are to be Rainbow Girls.
When I returned to Missoula, it was fair time and the Missoula girls, with the help of Mariah from Hamilton, had a lot of fun working with the other Masonic bodies including Eastern Star, Masons, and even DeMolay.
I have had a terrific start to my Journey this year, but we also need to think about our Grand Assembly’s Journey and where we aim our Journey to take us in the future.
My statewide goal for this year is to increase our membership. I want to share Rainbow with as many girls as possible and make Montana’s numbers grow. I would like every girl to try and bring a friend into Rainbow this year. Rainbow is a special treasure that grows the more we share it.
My theme is Journey on the Silk Road, and my motto, Walk With Hope. My Rainbow Journey has been a spectacular one, and I hope that we acquire more members just like travelers acquired treasures, silks, and spices on the Silk Road. I have acquired many treasures from Rainbow such as friends, confidence, fun memories, and more. I hope that everyone has a fantastic Journey through Rainbow and acquires many different treasures not just this year, but every year in Rainbow.
See You Round the Bend,
Hailey Sampson
