State Rainbow Dad

Namaste,
My last contribution to this newsletter was a letting-you-get-to-know-me article. So, now it's time to talk about this Journey.
GWA Hailey's theme for her term is journey on the Silk Road so I thought that this time I would share a couple of my rainbow journeys this year.
I had the pleasure of accompanying Garden City assembly to attend the installation of Sarah Clack as Worthy Advisor in Bozeman. It was the first non-Missoula installation I have attended, and the first time I have been introduced as anything other than "this is my dad." I believe that it may have been at this meeting where it was decided that some line walking practices would be scheduled in Missoula when Mr. Sampson is in attendance I promise I have improved. Thank you Heidi and Chelsea Elwood, for the careful and deliberate instruction. I was impressed both with how well the girls did their parts and with how many Disney songs I was able to remember.
My second Journey was once again to Bozeman only this time it was to attend Fall Fling. Fall Fling happened to fall on Grizzly Home Coming this year. Imagine my surprise when I arrived to find so many people wearing blue and gold to welcome me! I really must do more to show where my loyalties are: Maroon and Silver. I had the chance to meet many of the girls for the first time. When I have attended Grand Assembly in the past, many of the girls have been nothing more than streaks of brightly colored dresses hurrying in what always seems to me to be at least two if not three directions at once. I also learned that apparently it is good to be Rainbow Dad as I was not made to participate in ice cream making but was allowed to enjoy the races from the sidelines. I promise no pictures were taken even though I think we could have used a photo finish or two.
I have enjoyed the first few steps of my Journey as State Rainbow Dad immensely and look forward to meeting more of the people who make Rainbow in Montana so great.
Best,
Zane Sampson
