When Caldwell Elementary teacher Gisele Carone started the school’ s first soccer club, she never imagined it would open doors for so many students. Inspired by its impact, USL Dallas donated brand-new gear, uniforms, and equipment, setting up current and future players for success on and off the field.
The Classical Center at Brandenburg Middle School is the first campus in GISD to be named a National Merit School of Distinction by Magnet Schools of America. This honor highlights the school’ s dedication to academic excellence, artistic expression, and community involvement.

GISD Change Agents, PTA leaders, and staff participated in the 2025 PTA Rally Day in Austin on February 24. These outstanding student leaders made their voices heard with state representatives while gaining valuable advocacy skills.

We’ re thrilled to announce that 15 students from GHS, LCHS, NGHS, RHS, and SHS have been named Texas Music Educators Association( TMEA) All-State members! This honor is awarded to the highest-ranking musicians judged at the TMEA Area competitions in band, choir, and orchestra.
