State Champion Powerlifter! A’ JaLynn Bostic, SGHS senior, made history as the Girls Powerlifting State Champion, bringing home the first-ever title for the school and GISD! She broke all four state records, totaling 1,405 pounds, ranking second all-time in Texas girls’ powerlifting history! Congratulations, A’ Ja!
The Garland ISD Education Foundation( GEF) broke records again this January, delivering more than $ 450,000 in grants and scholarships to staff. GEF supports educators and students through teacher and classroom grants, grade-level and department grants, campus and districtwide initiatives, and scholarships for teachers and paraprofessionals.

Garland ISD is proud to announce that 14 schools have been recognized on the 2025 Texas Honor Roll, presented by the Educational Results Partnership( ERP). Through the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence( CBEE), this distinction highlights schools that are making a strong impact in preparing students for future success.
Garland ISD and its Board of Trustees have been selected as finalists for the 2026 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards, one of Texas’ most prestigious recognitions for public education. The awards are designed to honor outstanding public school professionals and to thank them for their dedication and commitment.
