Congratulations to the nine outstanding students who have been named National Merit Finalists!
At the SkillsUSA State Competition, GRCTC students earned impressive statewide recognition. Jordan Valenzuela captured 1st place in motorcycle technology, Rodrigo Aguilar earned 1st place in electrical construction, and An Nguyen placed 2nd in mobile electronics. The team also received the prestigious“ Best in Show” award for its motorcycle project.

GISD has been named the H-E-B Texas District of the Year! Earning one of the state’ s highest honors in public education along with a $ 100,000 award to support innovation and student opportunities. The recognition highlights the collective impact of nearly 50,000 students, staff, families, and community partners across 68 campuses in Garland, Rowlett, and Sachse.
Need transportation for the 2026 – 2027 school year? Don’ t miss out! Parents and guardians of currently enrolled students should look for a bus registration email from TransFinder. Registration closes June 12. Beginning next school year, all students( Pre-K – 12) will be required to wear ID badges to school and scan them when boarding and exiting the bus.

The GISD Student Nutrition Services will be providing breakfast and lunch at various campuses and other locations throughout the summer. All sites are open to the community and free for all children 18 and under. Please visit the GISD Summer Meals page for details.
