The Edmonton Muse December 2018 | Page 49

Killer shows have become the norm for this venue. The Starlite 'complex' has created quite the buzz in 2018 for the music and entertainment scene in Edmonton. From renewing the rooms, amping up the sound and lights, and launching the River City Revival House, (GREAT menu by the way), they never disappoint, especially with Concertworks at their side bringing the talent to their stages.

This event lived up to the Starlite expectations. It was a punk rock, ska induced, celtic-folk-rock, rockabilly-psychobilly coma. The line up was sick, twisted and there wasn't a rested moment for the entirety of the show. Sometimes a 5 band set can be exhausting, but because of the variety and incredible energy each band brought to the stage, it was more exhilarating than anything.

I particularly like the fact that the opening bands were all locals for the big act. Jash and the Winos, Chips Ov Oi, The Devil's Sons and Mad Bomber Society are all some of YEG's best.

The Creepshow has been around for over 12 years and has played with bands such as Rancid, Dropkick Murphy's, NOFX and Reverend Horton Heat. With such a big following, the opening bands certainly got a lot of exposure.

Right now, The Devil's Sons are currently on tour with The Creepshow until December 8.

I highly recommend going to see ANY one of these bands live. They are all amazing and have incredible talent and energy to offer their fans.
