For 8 years this city has been lucky enough to have Dan Johnstone as a contributing member to our communities. His efforts have helped countless families, supported those in need and he has established himself as an absolute asset to Edmonton.
Though he has many initiatives throughout the year, he is currently in the middle of his outdoor camp outs in front of Safeway's around the city, to raise food, money and toy donations for Edmonton's Food Bank and 630 CHED's Santa's Anonymous.
So far he has raised around 20,000lbs. of food and he has only done 2 out of the 5 that are in line for the year.
'I do this every weekend up until Christmas because I truly believe that everyone should have food on the table and presents under the tree.'
When asked what his goals were for this campaign, he responded, 'I don't have a goal or anything like that. I just want to help raise as much as I can. So I am here 24 hours a day on the weekends to take in those contributions. Even if it is 3 o'clock in the morning, I will take the donation and shake your hand!'
2017 brought in over 100,000lbs of donations into the food bank! So make sure to get out to one of these locations this year so we can help Can Man Dan blow last years numbers out of the water!
