Getting Into The Right Mindset
So, you’ve decided you want to shed some inches, eat healthier, feel healthier. Maybe you want to fit into that summer dress, or just be more confident in that bikini you’ve always wanted to wear. Guys? Maybe when you’re at the pool, you’d like to feel a little less uncomfortable about taking your shirt off. Perhaps you just want to go down a notch in your belt.
Before you do any of that, you’ve got to be in the right mindset and the mind is a wonderful thing, really. But it’s also a complete liar that constantly tries to convince us not to take actions we know are good for us and can stall us through our progress of trying to be just that little bit healthier.

The biggest key to overcoming our own mind is learning about and acknowledging the rationalizations we make for ourselves that convince us we can’t be any better than we are now.
The truth is:
The mind wants COMFORT. It’s afraid of the DISCOMFORT that comes with change. Like some children, the mind has a blanket of comfort. Any time we try to leave it behind or try to kick it off, the mind desperately tries to cling onto that blanket – at any cost.
Along your journey of trying to get to better health, you’ve probably said some of these to yourself at one time or another:
“Oh, I’ll just have ONE" bite.”
“I’m too busy.”
“Well, you only live once, right?”
“I’m just lazy.”
“Just because they can do it doesn’t mean I can. Their circumstances are way different than mine.”
