This doesn’t mean we’ve seen the end of new art from Phil Alain, though, so stay tuned: “I have countless ideas for new art pieces building up daily,” he says, “and when my life slows down enough again to create a new series I will be ready.” Having a young family has also influenced

where Phil chooses to focus his energy. “In the midst of the art family my personal connection to my own family takes precedent over all,” he shares, “But my mind never stops creating and I never feel like I am lacking in any way shape or form and look forward to every new day and what is coming next.”

With a rich life comes inspiration, and being surrounded by artists in his endeavours perhaps can’t help but influence the Phil Alain art we are yet to see. On influence, Phil says, “I have gained the most from all the artists in Night of Artists,. So many different influences but of course working with Lewis Lavoie has been my greatest influence.”

What is Phil Alain’s muse? “My muse I don't think can be personified. I think my muse is my own emotion. I am a very emotional person and am inspired by my emotions and trying to represent them. Whether it is through art, writing or deep discussion...I am always coming back to my emotions and how to release them out into the world.”

A final insight from Phil on his art: “My message through my art is always about creating an emotion the viewer can relate to. If achieve that I am successful.”

You can find Phil Alain’s art at www.philalain.com, and once he begins new bodies of art, you will find him places like the Whyte Avenue Artwalk, and, of course, Night of Artists.
