ESCO AROUND THE WORLD
Tokyo, Japan. ESCO and Mitsubishi Steel
Mfg. Co. Ltd (MSM) recently renewed a license
agreement for an additional five-year term, allowing MSM to manufacture and sell licensed ESCO
construction and mining products in Japan. MSM
became an ESCO licensee in 1964 and our two
organizations look forward to celebrating 50 successful years together in 2014. MSM manufactures
ESCO products at its Hirota foundry, and sells to
key OEMs and distributors via its network of sales
offices and service centers throughout Japan.
Balikpapan, Indonesia. The Balikpapan
Expo is an annual event that brings the mining
and oil and gas industries together in one very
strategic location. ESCO’s 2013 presence at the
show, held in Balikpapan 13-15 June 2013, included
Nemisys, SV2®, and the Ultralok construction
tooth systems. ESCO also showcased mining hoe
buckets, truck bodies and other wear management
products. One of the most popular ESCO products
on display was a complete ESCO Mining Hoe
Bucket, which was equipped with the 65SV2 tooth
system and Toplok® Shrouds. Key personnel were
on hand to discuss ESCO’s mining hoe bucket
offering and the company’s capabilities in repair,
refurbishment and wear management services.
Parks, Louisiana, United States. On 1 January
2014, ESCO acquired Stabiltec Downhole Tools, a manufacturer
of specialty drilling tools for the oil and gas industry. The
acquisition is a great fit for ESCO’s growing Oil & Gas
Division, joining Ulterra, the division’s founding brand. Stabiltec
manufactures complete, turn-key downhole tools on demand.
The company’s processes use the latest technology, including
next-generation, custom-designed robotics.
Arequipa, Peru.
ESCO participated in Perumin, one of
the largest mining industry tradeshows in Latin America, held
16-20 September 2013 in Arequipa, Peru. OEMs, suppliers and
mining companies from more than 40 countries presented their
mining innovations. ESCO celebrated 100 years of innovation and
showcased the Nemisys® and Ultralok® mining systems. ESCO
conducted hands-on demonstrations and met with several key
South American customers who will soon trial the new systems.

Jakarta, Indonesia.
Taking place every two years, the
Mining Indonesia Exhibition is an important opportunity to showcase
ESCO’s latest products and services, as it attracts key customers
from throughout the region. At the 2013 event, held 4-7 September
in Jakarta, ESCO debuted its Ultralok mining tooth system, which
received many positive reviews from visitors. Also on display was
the new Nemisys mining system as well as the Ultralok construction
tooth system. These innovations emphasized safety, performance and
value for customers. Truck bodies, mining buckets and refurbishment
services were also prominent in the booth, as all three are important
to continued success in Indonesia. All team members from our
Jakarta and Balikpapan offices banded together to make these
events successful. Their efforts to prepare for, as well as to support,
the booths during the exhibitions were recognized by many.
Adelaide, Australia. As of September 2013, ESCO
began directly supporting the South Australia and Northern
Territory markets from its newest supply and service location based
in Adelaide. With this transition, ESCO Australia continues the
aggressive growth it started in 201 The new Adelaide presence,

which leverages the expertise and personnel from Mine & Quarry
Service Co, marks ESCO Australia’s eighth direct supply and service
site that provides highly engineered wear management products and
services to mine and quarry operations. “ESCO’s direct presence
in the South Australian market will mean customers benefit from
individualized service and supply with immediate access to the
company’s global expertise and technical strength,” said Steve
Lennard, Managing Director for ESCO’s Australasian operations.
Kingaroy, Australia. The Australian sales and
marketing teams recently initiated a program to engage existing
and prospective customers in an informal event showcasing
ESCO’s mining products and services. On 17 June 2013, the
team hosted a gathering in Kingaroy to talk with 20 guests
and obtain valuable feedback that is now being used in our
continuous improvement processes. Similar events have
been held across the continent in other townships, including
Moranbah, Tieri and Collinsville, Queensland; Boggabri and
Gunnedah, New South Wales; and Perth, Western Australia.
