AIESEC
?AIESEC is a global, non-political, independent, not-forprofit organisation run by students and recent graduates of
institutions of higher education. The organisation was founded in 1948 by a small group of European students from seven countries united by the belief that the promotion of international peace could be built through true international understanding.
?AIESEC is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.
AIESEC is the world’s biggest youth-run organization. Its
foundation in 1948 is commemorated on five continents by a
series of conferences. The AIESEC International and the
Belgian celebration will be held in Brussels from 27 th - 29th
June 2008.
?What began in 1948 as an organization to help develop
"friendly relations" between member countries is now a global association with activities in over 100 different countries
and territories.
?The organisation focuses on providing a platform for leadership development and offers over 6500 leadership opportunities each year, in addition to over 4400 international internship opportunities annually. AIESEC’s international platform enables young people to discover and develop their
potential to provide leadership for a positive impact on society.
?AIESEC provides its members with an integrated development experience comprised of leadership opportunities, international internships and participation in a global learning
environment.
?AIESEC is active in 1100 universities in over 100 countries, has over 32,000 members, 800,000 alumni, with 6,500
leadership opportunities available each year. Its members
are interested in world issues, leadership and management.
