Wonderfully Worthwhile Words
The sentences you create should be simple enough for you to
understand the meaning of the vocabulary words. If a word is still
difficult for you to understand try using an online dictionary. I
recommend www.dictionary.com. If putting two in one sentence is
too difficult, just use one. Remember, this is for you! If you don't
have anyone to help you correct these sentences, it is more
difficult but, the practice of writing simple and clear sentences is
always great practice. If these words are new, try to keep them
close to you in a WORD or EXCEL document and when doing any
writing, try to find ways to include them.
How to Write a 5-paragraph Essay
Let's concentrate on structure for this essay. That means an introduction
paragraph with a general statement about the topic, a good thesis statement
(your main point or idea ; what you will prove and why you are writing), three
body paragraphs used to prove the main point (each body paragraph will
probably give one specific piece of information or evidence regarding your
thesis), and a conclusion (which is very much like an introduction but is written
in other words - it is used to restate your thesis and leave the reader with your
idea or central point in their mind. Remember that the focus here is structure,
other writing issues are definitely important but not they the focus of this
particular essay.
