Gone Girlg is a fictional-thriller novel written by Gillian Flynn. The plot takes place in North Carthage, Missouri in 2012. It revolves around Nick Dunne whose wife Amy Dunne has disappeared. He goes through a whirlwind of problems as he searches for her and the police suspect that he

that he has murdered her.

Nick Dunne is a former journalist for a New York magazine who became the co-owner of a bar in his hometown of North Carthage. He and his wife Amy decide to move there after he receives the news of his mother’s illness; actually, he decides without asking for his wife’s opinion and she just goes along with it. After moving to North Carthage, Nick and Amy’s easygoing relationship begins to shapeshift into a very tense one. On the morning of their fifth anniversary, Nick receives a call from one of his neighbors saying that his front door was left wide open; in this way begins the mystery of Amy’s disappearance.
