La Dure Vérité
All he could hear was that clock
Tick-tock it mocked
All he thought was why am I here is this too soon?
You’re sick they said
Off that piece of pink paper they read
How long? he asked
Two months and three days to be exact
He resented those lifeless tongues
Spirits and souls walked along
Their icy breaths sent chills along his spine
And Crash!
His bones cracked as he felt his hip collide with the floor
His eyes made way to that red vehicle but too late
All he could see was haze and his little baby Kate
Too bad Mr. James
It wasn’t your piece of pink paper anyway
You gave up on life and fled away
