CAMBRIDGE – On Saturday, October 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (rain date Sunday, October 19),the
Cambridge Valley Flying Club will host it’s 2014 Aviation Day/Fly in at Chapin Memorial Field
(1B8) 177 Plaines Road, one mile north of Cambridge just off Route 22.
Last year’s event was a rousing success. There were over 40 visiting aircraft including antique
planes, war birds, and ultra-lights among others. The field was crowded all day with lots of families
and kids in addition to the pilots and planes. Some people even brought their antique cars to show off.
In addition to the fly-in and airplanes there will be food in the large club hangar. New this year will
be music from the band “Switch Point” featuring pilot Dave McClements. CVFC members will be
on hand to greet everyone and answer questions about flying, airplanes and CVFC membership.
Admission is free. Proceeds from food sales and donations will go to the CVFC Chapin Memorial
Scholarship Fund which CVFC awards to a deserving Cambridge Central School graduating senior.
For more information about CVFC and Aviation Day please visit the Club website: www.cambridgevalleyflyingclub.org.
