According to Paul Davendonis, Fire Chief in charge, the structure was fully involved when firemen arrived on the scene at almost 9 pm. Five fire departments were called in for mutual aid and it took about 1½ hours to knock it down. The scene was cleared a little after 3 am. Today there is shambles. Davendonis wants to thank all who came to help, “Everyone did their best. It’s tough when it’s a double-wide and it’s fully I N D E X involved. The owner got out quickly and luckily there were no injuries.” Unfortunately, Laura said, nothing was salvageable except for one photo album. Two beloved pets, a cat and a rabbit, also perished. Laura, who is known in the community especially for her involvement with the Hoosick Soccer Club, has already experienced a great outpouring of support. After a post on Facebook, friends have been calling and offering anything she might need. “I want to thank everyone for their generosity and support. We have to start from the ground up and can use your continued support and prayers.” The Hoosick Area Local Headlines.......................2-3 Letters.......................................3, 6 Poor Richards...........................22 Cambridge News...................6-10 Hoosick News...............11-13, 16.
