GREENWICH - The Greenwich
Central School Senior High Drama
Club will be presenting the popular musical “Into the Woods” on
Friday, March 27th and Saturday,
March 28th at 7 p.m. and a Sunday,
March 29th matinee performance at
3 p.m. All of the performances will
take place in the High School Auditorium.
Into the Woods is written by
James Lapine with music and lyrics
by Stephen Sondheim. The story follows a Baker (Chris VanDerwerker)
and his wife (Courtnie Harrington)
who wish to have a child, Cinderella (Linnea Seegers) who wishes
to attend the King’s Festival, and
Jack (Joseph Oswald) who wishes
his cow would give milk. When the
Baker and his wife learn that they
cannot have a child because of a
Witch’s (Alexandra O’Brien) curse,
the two set off on a journey to break
the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with
disastrous results.
The show also highlights many
more Greenwich students dancing
and singing through this epic fairytale about wishes, family and the
choices we make. The musical is
being directed by Mr. Richard Cher-
ry and Ms. Lisa DeAngelis, with the
assistance of Mrs. Sarah Moses.
Plan on attending this wonderful
showcase of the incredible student
talent at Greenwich Central School.
It promises to be a fabulous family
event, fun for all ages. All proceeds
go back to the Drama Club for use
in future arts performances at the
school.
Tickets are $6.00 for adults and
$4.00 for students and senior citizens. Tickets will be available at the
door. Advance tickets are also on
sale at the High School Main Office
or can be reserved by calling 6929542 ext. 6300.
