EASTON – Before a packed
house at the Christ the King
Spiritual Life Center, Megan
Coldwell was crowned 20152016 Washington County
Dairy Princess on April 25.
Completing the team as
Alternate Dairy Princesses
are Kaylah Gulley and Julia
Steidle.
Megan is the daughter of
Janice and Art Coldwell of
Salem. Kaylah is the daughter of Kate and Chad Gulley of Greenwich. Julia, the
daughter of Colleen and Ray
Steidle of Argyle, was partic-
ipating in a drama club event
and was unable to be at the
pageant.
As part of the process, each
applicant was interviewed by
a team of judges, gave a 3-5
minute speech and answered
an impromptu question. As
the crowd noted, the judges
had a tough decision.
The outgoing team of Lauren Quick of Granville, Margaret Brownell of Greenwich
and Bridget Burch of Hartford gave thank you speeches reflecting on their year of
dairy promotion and service.
They also acknowledged the
more than 40 Dairy Ambassadors who participate in the
program growing life skills,
learning lessons and gaining
self-confidence all while promoting dairy products.
Please congratulate all of
these young ladies and raise
a glass of milk with them
as they set off on a year of
discovery. The Washington
County Dairy Princess program is supported by dairy
check off dollars and donations for the local dairy and
agri-business community.
