It was an early morning and I had just gotten out of bed, when I heard the mailman leaving today's letter. So as I was making my way to the mailbox, walking over the brown leaves covered in frozen dew with the sun shining on my back. I got the feeling that something good was yet to come. But once I opened the envelope and found the letter, I didn’t know whether I was supposed to feel devastated or just relieved. My mother anyhow, was devastated. She did absolutely not believe in the fact of solving issues by violence and war. Even though I agreed with her I didn’t want to put my opinion up against Hitler’s. “Excuse me” my thoughts were interrupted by an unusually deep male voice. “Yes” I answered turning my head around and facing a big smile belonging to a boy with round cheeks and short hair. By his appearance I would assume that he was way younger than me, but his voice made me doubt I saw that you were awake and felt like you might needed company, can I sit down?” The over enthusiastic boy said. “Oh of course, I find it hard to fall asleep because of the creaking by the train rails.” I told him. “I see, anyhow my name is Eric.”
