THOUGHT FOR YOUR SOUL
gear up to battle the final frontier.
She had had enough of it. If she
had to go down today, she won’t
go down a slave to monster, rather
a rebel with her face smeared with
the blood of the lust-craving
hound. As the evening descended,
so did his footsteps. The door knob
turned right and the door
squeaked slowly to reveal the face
of the ugly monster. He was taken
aback though as she had a smirk on
her face. Unaware of the moments
that would precede, the knife
struck like a thunder-bolt and
ripped through his evil heart. She
had finally avenged swine that
ruined her life.
With him dead, she no longer had a
motive to live. With the blood of
revenge in her hands, she slit her
wrists wide open. As the blood
spurted out through the veins, a
strange smile and a few tear drops
brimmed up. Before she lost her
sense of reality, she went back
down the memory lane when she
was just an innocent girl with
dreams of a bright future.
The doctor walked up to her and
said, “You should have thought of
your baby before slitting your
wrists.” An unexplainable sense of
love, responsibility and hope
gripped her as she mustered

enough words to ask, “Baby? You
mean my baby?” The bewildered
doctor nodded in agreement, “Yes.
Indeed yours.”
At times we might find ourselves
stacked with our back against the
wall. A clouded horizon of grey
with no rays of hope to guide us,
we might feel vanquished at the
hands of fate. Yet, we should not
forget that each of our lives ought
to have a meaning and if we go
down just like that, then we are no
better beings than a living corpse.
Look out for a reason to smile and
see the next light of the day. Who
knows? Maybe tomorrow is the
day your life is redeemed just like
her who found a reason to live, her
baby. She can now mould her little
bundle of joy into a better being
with a better cause to live!
