Wrap-Up: Dick Moroso 5-Day Bracket Championship at PBIR
At around 3 pm the storm scheduled for
Sunday rolled in early halting all racing
on the drag strip. Rain continued into
the evening hours and by all forecasts,
was set to continue well in Sunday.
PBIR Officials decided to call Race 4 a
rain out and cancel Race 5 entirely. The
decision was made in the best interests
of the racers to allow them ample time
to make the trip home safely.

Celebrating the 1 0.90 racers!
NHRA Super Street (a.k.a. Hot Rod in
IHRA) is a heads-up, breakout class
that runs on a 1 0.90 index in the
quarter-mile. This is truly an entry level
class that provides a perfect bridge for
the weekly bracket racer who wants to
get involved at the Divisional and
National Event level.
The Dragtime News website
(www.DragtimeNews.com), we've
attended many events in the Northeast
and have photographed an awful lot of
dedicated racers, including those who
compete in Super Street. Therefore we
According to NHRA, "At NHRA Lucas
Oil Drag Racing Series races and
select NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing
Series events, Super Street racers
compete on a fixed 1 0.90-second
index. All vehicles must be full-bodied
cars and weigh no less than 2,800
pounds except for six-cylinder cars,
which may have a minimum weight of
2,000 pounds, and four-cylinder- and
rotary-powered cars (1 ,200 pounds).
Engine and chassis modifications are
virtually unlimited. Racers compete on
a five-tenths Pro Tree."
