News & Events Summit Racing to Sponsor Bracket Racing Series at Memphis International features two championship tournaments for the best racers in IHRA's sportsman classes. Racers from all over the country come together at MIR to determine who the best-of-the-best is. Seven champions in the Summit Racing Equipment MILLINGTON, Tennessee Tournament of Champions (December 1 7, 201 5) presented by AMSOIL and Summit Racing Equipment has signed a multi-year deal three champions with the to return as the title sponsor Summit SuperSeries of the International Hot Rod presented by AMSOIL are crowned at the Summit Association (IHRA) World Racing Equipment World Finals and the 1 4-race Finals. The premiere Bracket Racing Series sportsman championship program at Memphis International Raceway (MIR). event is slated for October 1 4-1 6, 201 6. The Summit Racing The Summit Bracket Racing Equipment World Finals Series program will feature 1 4 scheduled events in 201 6 with a guaranteed purse structure at each event and a year-end point's fund. The sportsman program will run on alternate weekends at MIR to reduce the overlap of other local programs. The current schedule is February 1 4 and 28; March 5; April 1 6 and 30; May 7 and 21 ; June 4; July 2 and 1 6; August 6 and 20; Sept 1 7 and 25. NHRA Horsepower Adjustments for 201 6 The NHRA Technical Department released Horsepower changes December 21 , 201 5 after review and evaluation of written requests from Lucas Oil Sportsman Series competitors. All changes are effective January 1 , 201 6. Only those requests received by November 1 7, 201 5 were considered during this scheduled evaluation. Any requests received after November 1 7, 201 5 will be reviewed during the next scheduled evaluation of 201 6. Letter review is part of NHRA's commitment to evaluating input from the Sportsman racing community and is an important element of NHRA's Automatic Horsepower Factoring System. “No Change” combinations are listed so that competitors may see that requests were reviewed by the Technical Department, even though the request resulted in no change. Requests for horsepower changes or reviews can be made here www.nhraracer.com/ahfs.asp.
