Parts of the body involved

Hugo Ramírez Déniz

In downhill you use all muscles, but the most important are:

in the legs quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes.

And in the arms are triceps, biceps and wrists.

Quadriceps are big muscles in the front side of the legs. They push the pedals to the floor

The glutes are located in the cheeks. They push when the pedals are in the top.

The hamstrings are in the backside of the legs. They raise the pedals from the floor to the top.

The biceps, triceps and especially the wrists are important because in this sport you need a really good grip to the bike.
