We can feel Doon
I am pleased to inform you that our initiative of making Dehradun a brand and taking its heritage a step beyond has taken a giant leap by releasing this e magazine. Team Doon mozaic is the dream of all the readers across Dehradun. In our reader’ s survey, there were large number of people who want to know about the heritage and its illustration. The question was obvious and, it’ s understandable that, if a city is representing itself for“ smart city” concept, did it really deserve this? If yes, then what will be the pros and cons of it on our people and culture? Yes, changes only bring good, but for whom? This was the biggest question stuck behind our minds. Hence, there is only one solution to it,“ interrogate”. The moment the capitalization of Dehradun took place, there was utter investments in modernisation of this area. Real estate gave rise to anti socialism in the people, pre capitalisation era didn’ t need any communities like“ been there, Doon that” but, now there is a need of such an initiative.
I remember a Doon where there is greenery everywhere, a clean atmosphere with only abstract noise of cricket and beetles remember a Doon which had a empty roads and sugarcane grown over a wide range of area. I remember a Doon which has“ mohollas” which has harm of social meetings. Though, some areas are still alive with those vibrant colours of ancient Doon but, the immigrant of other states, should respect the aura this city is providing them.
Our initiative is to focus the hidden talents in any sector accept politics has taken a shape in form of this magazine. Our aim to make this magazine a journal on Dehradun is on the way of progress.
