OWCC 1st XI achieve promotion!
A massive congratulations to our first team who have
secured a promotion with three games to spare! There
have been some incredible performances from the
team this season and stand out individual contributions
and we couldn’t be more proud of them all! Hear what
OWCC Chairman Nick Fox has to say on this wonderful
achievement on pg.12.
Football crazy, football mad!
From next season onwards, the OWFC will be expanding
to 8 different teams, making it the largest ever senior
faction in OWA history. This will be divided into two
brand new saturday teams as well as current five sunday
teams with an additional vets team coming into the fold.
Here’s what OWFC chairman Damien “Woody”
Woodward had to say on the matter:
“Next season will see the OWFC take a significant
step forward. We will be working hard to properly
accomodate every club within the OWFC.”
Darts team to be set up in the Autumn
Following the recent addition of the dartboard in our
beloved clubhouse, the club are looking to put it to good
useby setting up a darts team for this coming Autumn.
OWA committee re-elected
In June the OWA committee was re-elected following
the club’s AGM. After decades of service to the OWA,
club legend Mike Tolmie had decided to step down as
treasurer, with former Warriors treasurer Richard Mason
taking his place. The rest of the comitee have decided to
continue as normal.
Life’s a pitch
The OWFC have an agreement for a new full size pitch
at Coombe Lane, which will run from the main car park
towards the training area. As well as this we now have
confirmation of the availability of the Raynes Park sports
ground next door, providing another two pitches. Due to
the expansion of the football club, three home pitches
wil be needed every sundau as well as at least one home
pitch every Saturday.
