often survivors themselves and their mentorship is particularly effective . It often involves in-house residential treatment and drug rehabilitation . Selah also has its own residential home program which provides a therapeutic environment for the survivors to heal . The program usually lasts around 18 months and participants have to attend court every month and find legitimate employment . Upon successful graduation of the program , the charges can be dismissed or reduced depending on the factual circumstances . Almost always , the graduate gives a speech on their success in the program – always a great moment .
What is your favorite part of TYLA Court ? My favorite part is just being able to witness these survivors and what they are able to accomplish . It ’ s a real privilege working with TYLA , I get to see these women heal . We have a very high success rate , which to me means I get to watch survivors support themselves and have healthy relationships moving forward .
Who would you like to recognize from TYLA Court for their assistance ? There are too many people to name . But , the Selah Freedom case managers , all of them . Craig Schaeffer at the State Attorney ’ s office and Mark Brewer at the Office of Regional Counsel . They are essential to the program and I would like to thank them . �
