The second event I want to highlight is our
Annual Membership Meeting on May 11th at Michael ’ s on East . Last July , CDI Chair- Elect Adria Jensen , YLD President Patrick McArdle , SCD President Patrick Reilly , Executive Director Holly Lipps , and I attended the Florida Bar ’ s Voluntary Bar Leadership Conference in Orlando . One of the speakers was an attorney from Broward County named Mark Eiglarsh whose speech was called “ Be Happy by Choice .” If the title of his talk makes you roll your eyes and think “ cheesy ” then your reaction is the same as mine . I couldn ’ t have been more wrong . Mr . Eiglarsh ’ s talk was life changing . I won ’ t give away what he ’ ll talk about , but it brought tears to my eyes , then made me laugh , and ultimately left me inspired . We are in a profession with tremendous issues with mental health because of the stress we deal with on a day-to-day basis . Mr . Eiglarsh ’ s message is exactly what we need to hear to try to be a more mentally healthy profession . If you have any question as to whether this program is worth attending , I encourage you to ask any of us who were there . I promise this will be the best lunch meeting you ’ ve ever attended .
