Here are some tips to help guide that process:
1. Let your son see respect modeled between you and others., especially in how men and women treat each other. From an early age, teach him that girls and women are equals, deserving of kindness, respect, and space. Sons are also worthy and deserving of the very same things.
2. Encourage personal growth: Help him develop habits like reading, journaling, exercising, and learning new things.
Let him know it’ s not selfish to invest in himself. He should rest without guilt, take care of his body, feed his mind, and protect his peace.
Remind him often who he is. Sons thrive when they’ re seen, loved, and reminded they are called to greatness. Not in fame or fortune, but in character, love and faithfulness.
3. Emotions Let him know that crying, listening, and asking for help are not signs of weakness, but of maturity. Teach him to recognize and express his emotions.
“ I feel hurt,”“ I need help”,“ I was wrong,”.
Teach Him to Love God and seek him first in all his decisions. A son who knows how to pour into himself and communicate with honesty and love will one day be a husband who doesn’ t just“ keep” a marriage, he will nurture it, build it, and honor.
